So I have some news, I am getting a new apartment. Yes I know moving again you may be thinking, but when your a student you tend to move from place to place each year. I am actually moving back closer to my family and boyfriend and will be commuting back and forth to uni. This time I am renting a proper flat, not student accommodation, and luckily I am allowed to decorate it however I like and will have more room. My current flat contract does not run out until june, which gives me plenty of time to sort through my things, decorate and gradually move things in.

As a student I am obviously not the wealthiest of people, however I do want my apartment to look as nice as possible. I have been creating mood boards looking at desk/office space and living room designs on Pinterest and it has inspired me lots. My boyfriend and I have decided to DIY a few furniture bits and also buy secondhand and up cycle. I shall probably do updates on the flats progression and also DIY posts showing you how we make some bits. I know that we are planning on making a cook funky coffee table and I am also planning on making my desk, which I may do a post on.

We are going for a sort of Scandinavian/minimalstic meets industrial kind of look. I want a brick wall so that I can pretend that I am living in some wonderful New York loft apartment haha, I wish. The industrial look is good when you have mix and match furniture as things are less likely to look out of place. The flat is definitely going to constantly be a work in progress, but this mood board is what I aspire to. Here is a few images from my 'dream apartment' mood board. Feel free to look at the full mood board here.

Hope you liked this post and look forward to the home ware hauls and DIY's.

During my recent visit to London, I decided that I had to take this opportunity to go to the Lush Oxford Street Store. My friends know what I'm like and decided not to come with me as I had no intention on having just a quick look around. Off I went by myself and it was so lovely I ended up wondering around for literally about an hour. My local store is not the biggest so there was quite a lot of products that I had not seen before so had plenty to look at.

The store is split over three levels and is laid out really nicely. The ground floor is full of the skin and hair products such as skincare, makeup, shower gel, shampoo etc. it has a little hair lab area which I loved as it had a really retro style to it. Upstairs was full of bath bombs, bath oil melts etc. and also a big section just for the fun! Lower ground floor is where the spa is located, along with the massage bars. I was spoiled for choice when it came to buying products, but I mainly focused on getting bits that I can't get at my local store.

I really enjoyed my visit as even though it was busy there was plenty of staff around ready to help if you need it. I spoke to two lovely members of staff the First Lady helped me decided which face mask to purchase and also informed me about one of their facial soaps that would be good for my skin. I shall feature a haul in a separate post as I got quite a few bits! The second lays I spoke to I think was called Hannah, she served me on the tills. Hannah was lovely we had a wonderful chat about the products and how I had traveled up and always wanted to visit the store. Hannah was kind enough to then gift me with an extra bath bomb for free as she said she really enjoyed chatting to me. I felt so privileged that she picked me to give something to and I shall enjoy using it that little bit more.

Here are a couple of images I took on my phone during my visit at the store.

Hope that you enjoyed this post and stay tuned for more.

Hey lovelies, am I the only one that cannot believe it is february already? February is the month of valentines day therefore today I am going to do a gift guide for you. I believe that you should show that special someone that you love them everyday of the week, but I do like Valentines day. Not all of these are going to be physically presents, but also ways to just express and show your love for someone. If you haven't got a partner don't feel down take this opportunity to gather up your best friends and either have a cute movie night in or go out for dinner and have drinks. The day is all about sharing it with people you love whether thats family, friends or your partner. Valentines day is not for some people which is fair enough but here is my gift guide for those who do celebrate it.

Gifts for her

1. I personally love gifts that are personal for example a photo frame/album that features photos and good memories or even a nice piece of art work that has meaning behind it that relates to you.

2. One of their favourite scents. Perfume is something that you love, but do not always want to buy yourself.

3. You can never beat good old fashioned flowers.

4. Lush Cosmetics do a lovely Valentines range that consists of gift sets and products that are only available around Valentine's Day.

Gifts for him

1. A nice grooming set, maybe a razor with a badger hair shaving brush and balm. Men sometimes do not like spending money on toiletries, but would appreciate a nice decent gift set. Find the image example here.

2. An aftershave that he loves, but you want to make sure you like it too as you are going to not only be buying it, but you will be smelling it!

3. Merchandise. If you are the type of couple to sit and watch a whole series of a show together you could get them something relating to that show. For example Game of Thrones you could get them a t-shirt, cushion covers, key rings, mugs etc. there is honestly so much to choose from.

4. A games gift card for their console. If your partner has say a PS4 you can buy top up wallet gift cards from £5 and upwards. This allows them to buy games online and download them straight onto the console. If your gift card doesn't match the price of the game they choose they can top it up like a normal online transaction.

Gifts for both of you

1. You cannot beat a nice meal, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner its nice to just go out somewhere different and not have to cook yourselves. I quite enjoy dressing up smart in a nice dress and my boyfriend will wear a shirt and go for a nice meal and a couple of drinks. Putting in that extra bit of effort can create a really enjoyable night.

2. Ordering takeaway and getting some movies. If you do not fancy going out treating yourselves to a take away and watching some of your favourite movies whilst chilling on the sofa can be just as an enjoyable night.

3. An experience. You can now get a huge variety of experiences and you can get ones where the package is for two people. Depending on what kind of people you are and what you are into you could either do a spa trip and enjoy being pampered, go to a race course and get to drive some super expensive fancy cars, go wine tasting etc.

4. Your presence. There is no better present than being there and expressing your love for your special person.

Hello Lovelies, sorry there was no post on Friday, but you may have seen my previous post that explained I was away in London. I spent 5 days in there for a University trip. Our hotel was in Covent Garden, which happened to be the same hotel my boyfriend and I stayed in last year. I loved that it was the same hotel as I then knew my surroundings and felt less lost in the city. Covent Garden is such a great location as there is so much to do that is either walking distance or just a couple of tube stops away.

I had a great week with my friends exploring London doing touristy things. The first day was mainly just travelling there and going to the national portrait gallery. The second/first proper day in the morning we went to the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the V&A. In the afternoon we visited a photographers studio to learn about him and check out where he works. Unfortunately I really did not enjoy this experience and was made to feel quite uncomfortable and uninspired due to the photographers attitude. When we left we saw Jim Chapman walking his dog Martha though, which certainly brightened my mood.

For the third and fourth day there was a symposium. The Uni hired out a room and we had two days of Photographers, Artists and retouchers currently working in the industry to come talk to us. I only went to the first day as it was 9am til 4pm, which was long enough for me. I much preferred the talks we had by these practitioners as there were far more positive and inspiring. After the symposium I went to Oxford Street, as I really wanted to check out the Lush Oxford Street store. I shall be doing a separate post on the store, but I will say I loved it!

The second symposium day I wanted to explore so I went to Greenwich and Camden Market. Had a lovely day wondering around and shopping. In the evening we all went to the pub and had a few drinks, some more than others. It was a brilliant, but eventful night!

On Friday we all had the delightful 6 hour coach journey home, with only one stop allowed, whilst suffering hangovers!

I love London, how there is always something to do and just the people it is filled with. I cannot wait to go back hopefully in the near future. Hope you enjoyed this post and stay tuned for more.

Lots of love
